Getting to Angaston: driving, buses and Murray Street

Plan an Angaston visit from Adelaide or Gawler, check current LinkSA services and distinguish the two Murray Street hotel addresses.

For Angaston, enter the town and postcode 5353 as well as Murray Street in your route planner. Several Barossa towns have a Murray Street. Angaston Hotel is number 59; Barossa Brauhaus Hotel is number 41.

By car

Choose a route using current traffic information and your starting point. Allow additional time for stops and events in the Barossa. We do not give a fixed journey time because road conditions and the route through the region change it.

At the destination, read local parking signs and identify the correct entrance. Contact the venue about accessible parking or a drop-off point when needed. Booking accommodation does not necessarily include a reserved parking space.

By train and bus

LinkSA publishes a Gawler–Angaston connection as Route 1110. Its route material includes Gawler Railway Station, Tanunda, Nuriootpa and Angaston. Consult the operator’s current timetable for your exact travel day and check the return trip before leaving.

  1. Check the Adelaide Metro journey planner for the rail leg to Gawler.
  2. Check LinkSA for the connecting service and stops.
  3. Allow a realistic transfer margin between rail and bus.
  4. Save the return departure and a backup travel plan.

A timetable PDF can remain online after a service changes. Use the current operator listing rather than assuming a saved document is still the latest version. LinkSA’s Barossa office is 08 8562 1999 for service enquiries.

A simple Murray Street itinerary

Select the venue before travelling, then arrange any meal or room booking with that business. Keep the street number in your confirmation. On arrival, check kitchen and gaming-room hours separately if you intend to use both.

For a wider day trip, compare Barossa venues instead of treating Nuriootpa and Tanunda as Angaston suburbs. Our Angaston comparison is limited to the two named town venues.

What to ask about access

Ask whether the entrance, dining area, toilets and accommodation you will use are step-free. These are different questions: an accessible front bar does not establish access to upstairs rooms. Give the venue the date and the facilities you need so it can give a specific answer.
