Big Bass Bonanza: Collectors, Free Spins and Versions

Learn how the original Big Bass Bonanza collector feature works, how retriggers develop and why the sequels need separate rules.

Big Bass Bonanza is a Pragmatic Play online slot with a fishing theme and a collector-style free-spin feature. Money symbols carry values; a fisherman wild can collect those values during the feature. The original game and its named sequels should be read separately.

The original feature sequence

Pragmatic Play’s product page describes three, four or five scatters awarding 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively. During the feature, wilds collect the visible money symbols. Every fourth wild retriggers the feature with 10 additional spins, developing through the stated multiplier stages.

The sequence has two different pieces of information: the money values currently visible and the collector’s progress towards a retrigger. A value symbol on its own is not the same as an award collected by the required wild.

Reading the collector correctly

Item on screenQuestion to answer
Money symbolIs its value expressed in cash, credits or a stake multiple?
Fisherman wildDoes this feature state collect the visible values?
Wild counterHow many qualifying wilds have been recorded in the stage?
RetriggerHow many spins are added and what changes for the next stage?
MultiplierWhich collected awards does it multiply?

A collector is a game symbol. Changing the animation speed or trying to stop the reels at a particular instant does not provide control over its arrival.

Identify the sequel before comparing

Big Bass Bonanza, Bigger Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Splash and other named extensions are not merely interchangeable names. A sequel can change the layout, scatter awards, retrigger progression or special symbols. Keep the complete title with any RTP, feature or maximum-award figure you are comparing.

For the original game, the manufacturer’s description records progression to 2x, then 3x and finally 10x on the third retrigger. These figures should not be applied to every sequel without checking its own rules.

How it differs from a tumble game

In Sweet Bonanza, symbols disappear after a qualifying win and the sequence can continue with new symbols. In Big Bass Bonanza, the collector interaction is the defining feature explained here. Both systems can include multipliers, but a shared term does not imply the same trigger or calculation.

Local and product context

Does a visible fish value guarantee a payout?

No. Read the current feature conditions: a value-bearing symbol may need a collector or another qualifying event. A visual amount is not automatically a credit added to the balance.
