Timber Wolf is an Aristocrat pokie family associated with free games, wild multipliers and respins. Current official products extend the wolf theme through collection, expanding reels and multi-feature formats. Other wolf-themed games can belong to unrelated families, so check the complete Timber Wolf title.
How wild multipliers and respins interact
A wild can substitute for other symbols under the paytable. A wild multiplier can multiply a qualifying win. In some Timber Wolf extensions, a wild that appears without forming a win can trigger a respin while the wild stays in position. Other versions collect wolf symbols during free games or expand the reel area.
A held wild creates a defined in-feature state. It is not evidence that the machine has become hot. Once the rule-defined sequence ends, the next base-game outcome remains random.
Read the installed game’s information to answer:
- Where can wilds appear?
- Which symbols can they substitute for?
- Does a multiplier apply once or to every line that uses the wild?
- What triggers a respin?
- Which symbols remain held?
- Can free games retrigger?
- Does a collection persist only for that feature?
The pokies features guide explains these terms without tying them to one brand.

Are respins better than free spins?
The labels describe different feature structures, not different guarantees.
A respin usually repeats some or all reels while holding a defined state. A free spin is an additional spin awarded under feature rules, often with modified reels, symbols or multipliers. Either feature can produce a wide range of outcomes.
For a useful comparison, check:
- how the feature starts;
- how many spins or respins are awarded;
- what is held or modified;
- whether additional spins can be added;
- how the total bet relates to displayed values;
- whether the feature uses a jackpot link.
Do not compare by watching only large-win videos. Highlight reels omit ordinary sessions and cannot show the probability distribution.
Volatility without the hype
A game with multiplier-heavy free games can feel quiet in the base game and active during occasional features. That may be described as higher volatility, but the exact label belongs to the approved version.
High volatility does not mean high quality or high profit. It means the path of outcomes may be more uneven. A short entertainment budget may end before the feature appears. Read pokies volatility explained and select a spin cost that does not require chasing.
FAQ
Is Timber Wolf the same as Buffalo Gold?
No. Both are Aristocrat families and can share collection or free-game ideas in newer products, but they are distinct brands with different versions.
Do wild multipliers apply to every win?
It depends on the paytable and the position of the wild. Read the exact machine rules.
Is Timber Wolf available at Angaston Hotel?
Not confirmed. The venue’s current game inventory and operating status need direct verification.
Are wolf pokies luckier?
No. Theme artwork does not change the fact that outcomes are random under the approved game configuration.
Can I use respins to predict the next result?
No. A respin follows its feature rules, but it does not provide a method for predicting later random outcomes.
